  • UW-Superior to feature with percussionist Brett Jones

    The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will feature Brett Jones, professor percussion, in a recital titled “Stillness and Grandeur” as part of the University Recital Series on Tuesday, February 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Webb Recital Hall.
    Featuring explorations of prayer and meditation coupled with natural beauty and landscapes, Jones will perform notable pieces such as Arvo Pärt’s “Spiegel im Spiegel,” Michio Miyagi’s “Haru no Umi,” and Isaac Albeniz’s “Leyenda.” Other pieces include original compositions and arrangements for solo and chamber music featuring marimba, vibraphone, steel drum, triangles, and flute. Jones will be joined by guest musicians Melanie Sever, on flute, and Jeremy Craycraft, playing percussion.
    Tickets, which can be purchased with cash or check at the door, are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and students.
