WisDOT inspection of the Bong Bridge in Superior expected to wrap next week
Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) staff will complete the inspection of the Bong Bridge, which carries US 2 traffic between Superior, Wis., and Duluth, Minn., on Thursday, Sept. 16.
The work, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will result in westbound lane restrictions from just east of the arch to the off-ramp.
The inspection is dependent on weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Staff began inspecting the roughly 11,800-foot structure last month. The Bong Bridge is the second longest bridge in Wisconsin.
