The City of Superior’s Common Council will be considering the appointment of Camila Ramos as the new City Clerk. Ramos brings her substantial professional experience and personal commitment to ethical governance, transparency, and quality customer service to the role, which administers the city’s elections, licensing programs, voter registration and clerk to the City Council.

Ramos most recently served as the City Clerk Technician for the City of Superior for more than 5 years. She has played an integral role in the city’s elections during her tenure. She has trained election workers and inspectors, worked closely with the State of Wisconsin and Election Commission on auditing and reconciliation of voter records, and has actively strengthened the voter outreach and transparency efforts by the clerk’s office. Ramos also has the competence and understanding of the clerical duties that are statutorily obligated to the City Clerk. She has supported the clerk’s office’s efforts to post agendas and meeting minutes, prepare resolutions and ordinances, and process various license and permit applications.

“Camila Ramos is a proven leader with a strong vision for the Superior Clerk’s Office. She has clearly demonstrated her commitment not only to free and fair elections, but to expanding access and outreach to citizens. I am hopeful her extraordinary commitment to organization, innovation, and public service will serve the people of Superior for years to come,” said Superior Mayor Jim Paine.

“I am very excited to be continuing my career of public service in the City of Superior. I believe there are great opportunities on the horizon to implement more technology into the clerk’s office to improve the quality of services we offer to our residents, and to put a stronger focus on election work by increasing training, transparency and voter engagement,” said Ramos.

Ramos moved to the Superior area more than 25 years ago and earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She has participated in Leadership Superior-Douglas County and is a graduate of the Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Institute.
