    Event Description:
    Learn how to use Words Their Way to assess students' spelling and writing to determine what developmental stage each student is at. By understanding where students are at developmentally, students can be grouped for instruction. This course will provide opportunities for participants to practice scoring spelling inventories and writing samples to gauge students' developmental stage and make recommendations for instruction. Participants will make and take some activities that could be used in the classroom. Instructor Lisa Peterson has 10 years of experience teaching in kindergarten, pre-school, third grade, and Title One. She taught literacy education at the collegiate level.
