Job Description:
As a Winter Ice Rink Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable ice-skating experience for our guests. You will perform a variety of duties in support of ice skating at various hockey and figure skating rink locations throughout the City of Superior. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Greeting and assisting visitors as they arrive at the ice rink.
• Maintaining a clean warming shack.
• Distributing and collecting ice skates and equipment.
• Assisting visitors with putting on skates.
• Performing minor maintenance tasks to keep the ice rink in optimal condition.
• Handling customer inquiries and providing excellent customer service.
• Collaborating with other team members on special events and programs.
• Keeping accurate records of daily attendance and incidents.
• Monitoring the ice rinks to ensure a safe environment, including checking for hazards and enforcing safety rules.
Must be at least 16 years old (attendants under 18 will be assigned to work with an adult at all times).
Previous experience in a customer service or public-facing role is preferred.
Basic knowledge of ice skating and ice rink operations is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work outdoors in cold weather conditions.
Reliable and punctual.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to remain calm and respond to emergency situations (First Aid training will be provided).
Exposure to variable temperatures and weather conditions.
Noise from participants.
Special Requirements:
Availability to work variable schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must pass post-offer drug screen.
Must pass a background investigation related to working with children prior to hire.
