    DTA Begins Expanded Port Town Trolley Service on June 4th
     
    DULUTH, MINNESOTA (May 24, 2017) – The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) will return the Port Town Trolley to the streets of Duluth for the summer on Sunday, June 4, 2017.  An expanded route will run between Canal Park, Bayfront, The Historic Arts & Theatre District (HART District) and downtown through Labor Day.  The daily schedule will be every 20 minutes from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and every 30 minutes from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
     
    Several changes to the Port Town Trolley service will be implemented this year and include:
     
    • Two trolley buses will be operated to increase schedule frequency.
    • Service will operate past Fitger’s to 10th Avenue East.
    • Service hours daily are now 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
    • Service will be every 20 minutes from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
    • Service will be every 30 minutes from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
     
    The Port Town Trolley’s route runs along Superior Street from 10th Avenue East to Sixth Avenue West and then proceeds to Bayfront via Harbor Drive and to Canal Park via Canal Park Drive.  The route now includes the HART District east of Lake Avenue.  The Port Town Trolley stops at all general DTA bus stops along Superior Street in addition to the special Port Town Trolley stops located in Bayfront and Canal Park.
     
    The following are official Time Points listed in the Port Town Trolley’s Daily Schedule: Holiday Center, Radisson, Depot, Great Lakes Aquarium, Excursion Dock, Irvin, Maritime Center, Fitger’s and 10thAvenue East & 1st Street.
     
    The Port Town Trolley fare is only $.50 cents with children four and under riding for FREE.  Unlimited-ride DTA Day Passes are available for only $4 onboard the Trolley and at the DTA transit center downtown.  A Port Town Trolley route map with schedule information is available at duluthtransit.com.
