DTA testing new destination sign displays on buses and requests input from passengers.
DULUTH, MINNESOTA (April 26, 2017) – The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) is testing a new double stacked display format for their digital destination signs located on the front and right side of their buses. This demonstration test begins today, Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
The DTA would like input from passengers on the new double-stacked format. Citizens are encouraged to offer their input by calling the 218-722-SAVE (7283) information line or by submitting a comment using the online form at http://www.duluthtransit.com/form/comment.
Approximately half of the DTA’s 63-bus fleet will now feature a double-stacked digital destination sign format that lists both the origin route and the destination route at the same time on two separate lines.
Several DTA routes are interlined, with bus routes changing once the buses travel through the Duluth Transportation Center (DTC). This allows passengers to reach major destinations across town without having to transfer onto another bus, and the new sign display is designed to display the destination as well as the downtown code.
