Duluth Transit Authority Has a New General Manager With a Familiar Face
The Duluth Transit Authority Board of Directors voted Tuesday night to select long-time Twin Ports transit leader Rod Fournier as the new DTA General Manager, formalizing a role Fournier has held on an interim basis since early spring 2021.
After a national search and interview process stemming from a Board of Directors-led process the DTA now has a lead executive with knowledge and experience in the industry and local area going back more than 30 years.
Beginning as a Bus Operator in 1988, Fournier has held many positions with the DTA, including his most recent multi-year stretch as Director of Operations.
DTA Board of Directors Aaron Bransky said, “It is clear to us that Rod Fournier has excelled and will continue to excel in this position, and we are very pleased to have someone with his demonstrated leadership, poise, and perspective in this critical role. The future of the DTA is in great hands, and we look forward to more great work from Rod and his team.”
In this capacity, Fournier will serve at the pleasure of the DTA Board of Directors and oversee all operational and administrative functions of the Fixed-Route and Paratransit services across the Twin Ports region. The DTA provides up to 10,000 rides per day to area citizens, and under Fournier’s leadership, has recently embarked on an umbrella of projects designed to provide better service, technology, passenger amenities and more.
Details on these current and upcoming projects is available at www.DuluthTransit.com.
