  • Interstate 535/Blatnik Bridge routine inspection scheduled July 10 - July 27 in Duluth

    Motorists traveling on the I-535 Blatnik Bridge in Duluth may encounter lane restrictions as an inspection project begins Monday, July 10. The three-week-long inspection project will start on the Superior-bound side and then move to the Duluth-bound side.

    Superior-bound traffic will be restricted to a single lane from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily Monday, July 10 to approximately July 18.

    Duluth-bound traffic will be restricted to a single lane from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily approximately Wednesday, July 19 to approximately July 27.


    All traffic lanes will be open from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m.

    Motorists will be restricted to 45 mph in the work zone. There is also a 10-foot width restriction. Motorists with vehicles that exceed 10-feet may use the Bong Bridge.

    The project timeline may be affected by inclement weather.

    Motorists are asked to be patient and drive carefully near all work zones.
