Superior Choice Credit Union branches host Honor Flight fundraiser, Holiday Mail for Heroes
In honor of Veterans Day on November 11, all through the month of November Superior Choice Credit Union will host a fundraiser and holiday mail activities in support of local veterans and military service members.
Honor Flight Northland fundraiser
From November 1 through November 30, all branches of Superior Choice Credit Union will be accepting donations for Honor Flight Northland. Members and community members who donate will be able to write their support message on a red, white, or blue Honor Flight Northland slip of paper to decorate branches. SCCU will match up to $2,500 in donations that are raised by November 30.
Honor Flight Northland is a non-profit organization created solely to honor veterans living in Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin for all their sacrifices. Honor Flight Northland transports veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect on their memorials. The next Honor Flight Northland trip is slated for April 2018.
Holiday Mail for Heroes
In addition to the Honor Flight Northland fundraiser, all through November branches of SCCU will be offering holiday cards for the Holiday Mail for Heroes program through the American Red Cross. Each branch will have blank holiday cards that may be filled out for a local veteran or military service member. At the end of November, completed cards will be given to the American Red Cross serving Northern Minnesota for distribution to local veterans and service members.
The American Red Cross serving Northern Minnesota covers 16 counties in northern Minnesota as well as Douglas County in northern Wisconsin. The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
