The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department will host Greg Kehl Moore on saxophone for its University Recital Series on Tuesday, January 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Webb Recital Hall.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for me to present music to the community,” said Moore, associate professor of music and jazz program director at UW-Superior. “It’s a way for me to showcase different aspects of what I can do musically. What’s new for me is that it will be the first time that I will give a classical recital on campus.”
Moore, associate professor of music and jazz program director at UW-Superior, will perform “Caprice en Forme de Valse,” composed by Paul Bonneau; “Concerto in C Minor,” composed by Johann Sebastian Bach; and “Warm Fuzzies,” composed by UW-Superior alumni David Packa; among many others. The performance will also feature Moore collaborating with many members of the UW-Superior Music Department. Erin Aldridge, Brett Jones, Hector Landa, Melanie Sever and Zoe Scherer will join Moore for several of the performances. The concert will also feature guest performers Brad Bombardier, Kevin Hoeschen, and Randy Lee.
The evening will be highlighted by “Tableauz de Provence,” composed by Paule Maurice and arranged for saxophone quartet by Moore. Joining Moore for the premiere of this arrangement will be Bombardier, Lee, and Scherer.
“I’m really excited for all of the collaboration that is going to go into this,” said Moore. “I’m hoping this will be a fun time for the audience and my colleagues I will be performing with.”
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. The Webb Recital Hall is located in the Holden Fine Arts Center, 1805 Catlin Ave. For questions or additional information, call (715) 394-8115 or email music@uwsuper.edu.
