The Foster Grandparent Program will host a monthly meeting that reviews the benefits to children and seniors age 60+ who give extra help in local classrooms to assist students succeed. Preschoolers learn social skills, elementary school children improve their reading abilities; just two examples of how Foster Grandparents have an impact with children one-to-one or in small groups. A short video of seniors in action will be shown and a Foster Grandparent will be at the meeting to share their experiences. Foster Grandparents receive a small hourly stipend and also enjoy paid holidays, receive mileage reimbursement or transportation assistance, and attend social and recognition events. Come find out what the program is about! Meetings are held the last Tuesday of every month at 1:00pm in the basement of the Catholic Charities Building, 1416 Cumming Avenue, Superior.
