Belknap/US2 Weekly Update 7/26/2017

Please note: There is no turning onto Belknap from Tower Avenue. The Superior Police Department has been monitoring the intersection, please obey all construction signs to avoid back-ups. Thank you!
Project Staging, Schedule and Traffic Overview:
Banks Avenue to John Avenue (West End) Traffic Control
South Side Construction 4/11/17 – 7/10/17 Bidirectional on the north side.
North Side Construction 7/11/17 – 9/1/17 Bidirectional on the south side.
Median Construction 9/5/17 – 10/6//17 Traffic in the outside lanes.
Birch Avenue to Hill Avenue (East End) Traffic Control
South Side Construction 4/17/17 – 7/30/17 Bidirectional on the north side.
North Side Construction 8/1/17 – 10/16/17 Bidirectional on the south side.
Median Construction 10/17/17 – 11/17/17 Traffic in the outside lanes
Project Detours – There is a signed truck detour utilizing the City of Superior Truck Route. There is also an alternative detour route signed for other traffic to bypass the project.
Traffic impacts
- Motorists can expect to encounter single lane closures and lane shifts as the project progresses
- Hill Avenue is now closed. Please use Elm Avenue as an alternative route.
- North Banks Avenue will be closed starting Monday, July 31.
- There is a signed truck detour utilizing the City of Superior Truck Route.
- There is an alternative detour route signed for other traffic to bypass the project.
Work Completed since last update:
West End - Banks Avenue to John Avenue
- Traffic has switched to south lanes
East End - Birch Avenue to Hill Avenue
- Mainline concrete pavement Hill to Railroad tracks
Anticipated work schedule for next week:
West End - Banks Avenue to John Avenue
- North Side removals
- Concrete bases for street lights and signal bases
- Grading
East End - Birch Avenue to Hill Avenue
- Concrete Paving - Railroad tracks to Catlin Avenue
- Concrete Curb & Gutter
- Concrete Sidewalk
